I have no credit score on file because I've preferred to use my money to pay for stuff. Now I want a mortgage loan and hit a roadblock. I've been told that FHA loans require a credit score of 620 or higher. I've taken out a secured card and will keep it under 10% of it's limit, I will not falter on this. So if by using this one card and keeping it under 10% and paying it off on time every month how long, estimated obviously, will it take to get my credit to 620? Also, what is the default credit score when one earns credit? Does it start at 0?Didn't think about the obvious stuff, thanks. I'm 24 and live in Alamosa, CO. I've bought a car but paid in full and never paid rent, lived on campus.
I've checked my score and it says I have an old loan from a CU, but does not yield a score based off that, hence the secured card. Thanks!
Hello everyone, so I just got a green dot prepaid credit/debit card the other day with $50 on it. Was wondering when I put the numbers of the card to add on to my paypal balance [$0]. Is there anyway way to put just a little bit of my prepaid card on paypal [$25] and keep $25 on the card for another purchase.. Or will it extract all $50 of my card onto paypal automatically when I put in my card #'s, info etc.. Thanks for your help!
There is this website I was looking at to buy something, and they had one of the items marked at $0.00 when it should actually be at least $300 and maybe $400. I went to checkout, and it still had it as $0.00, do you think they would actually end up just charging my credit card what it's really worth, or would they have to sell it to me at the marked price, because right now I would only be paying for shipping.
Thanks
Yesterday i was on my computer and downloaded itunes new software something like itunes 10.0 i think anyway after that my computer kept having pop up boxes in the bottom right hand corner and it says that there is some kind of virus or something, its lets me open browsers but doesnt let websites open and says it visiting this website may put your computer at risk.
every time i click on the pop up boxes to turn on my anti virus (which is already on and working (i use avast anti virus free home edition)) but anyway when i click on these pop up boxes it takes me to this same website every time trying to get me to buy this anti virus software, im not going to buy it because im almost 100% sure its a scam and its going to take my credit card details if i put them in.
what can i do to fix this or get rid of this virus?

Barclays Bank Profit Soar 44% .President Bob Diamond yesterday rubbished talk of a double-dip recession in the UK or the US, saying: “We just don’t see it.”
As the Bank of England voted to keep interest rates at a record 0.5 per cent low for the SEVENTEENTH month, he insisted: “There is no historic example of this kind of economic recovery turning into a double dip.”

what credit limit would i expect for 610 credit score when i apply? i make 98,000 a year and i also have 0% debt.generally a 10,000 limit would be okay with me, is that a possible starting limit for capital one
okay well i have a credit score of 610 but i have 0% debt and i make about 98,000 a year. I recently applied for a capital one venture card (cc for people with good credit) because the receptionist said i can apply for it. I applied for it and there is processing going on for review. If i do get accepted, will my credit limit be low? like 500? I generally want a starting credit limit of 10,000, i can max it out and pay full each month to get the highest limit possible. Is this by any chance possible to start off my credit limit of 10,000 with only 610 credit score but 98000 annual income? Please help thank u
Today, when we were grocery store shopping, I got ice cream. I wanted to make a milkshake. My mom screamed at me and said I didn't need it, and when I tried to put it back she shoved it back in the cart. When we were standing in line she threw her credit card at me so I ran to put the ice cream back (leaving the line) and when I came back she was standing there and said I lost all chance on all groceries and we went home and she screamed at me while my brother sat in the car for thirty minutes.
I know she loves me, but I don't know what to do. She verbally abuses me all the time and makes me cry at least once a week and seriously cry (like I am now) twice a month. She has been diagnosed with depression and does nothing but scream at me and tell me how stupid I am and how I have no friends and will be a failure.
I am pretty–not when I'm crying, but I have largish eyes and creamy skin and full, pink lips. I'm not exactly going to win beauty pageants, but I've gotten asked out plenty of times.
I am smart–it's hard for me to get good grades when my mom is screaming at me and telling me to walk to school at 7:40 AM (I live 1.3 miles away, it takes about 30 minutes) when I have tutorials, but I've gotten about 3.76-3.8/4.0. Low A average. I also got a 32 on my ACT. I scored a 132 on an IQ test. From what I remember–that is gifted. I'm a very good writer and have won journalism awards. I won't win a Nobel Prize, but I am not stupid at all.
Going to my dad's is not an option. Although my mom verbally abuses me, he does it emotionally–he's very twisted and much worse than my current predicament. If I went to my grandparent's, I'd be happy but going to a very bad school and most likely a semi-decent college. (Don't say "take them", they're not angels, they're still human. I wouldn't entirely be escaping my mom, anyway.)
I've weighed my options, staying here is my best bet. My mom is nice a lot of the time and hugs me and tells me she loves me, but others just gets mad and screams all the time and tells me she wish she'd never had me. I am crying as I type this, this is not a koke and I feel like **** all the time and I don't know what to do.
I just paid off my car so I have an extra $470 per month to throw at my credit card debt which is not THAT bad actually. So here it is. I have one card that's 29%, one that's 24%, one that's 16%, one that's 9%, and one that is 0% interest which I'm not worried about.
I have been paying down the 29% card & focusing on that only until I get it down to a zero balance & then I'll keep the card. My husband thinks I should only pay that card down to around $300-$400 dollars and move on to knocking down the next card a bit. Why? Am I just not understanding his point? Why pay $400 per month to a card with a lower interest rate & continue leaving a balance on the higher interest card? He says it's the available balance per card that matters. I thought it was your available credit vs. amount owed on ALL cards combined that effect your credit?
Help?

I have a Best Buy credit card, and its 0 balance, paid off. If i were to cancel it cause i don't really buy much from there except the T.V. i bought long ago.
A) Will i lose points from my credit score?
B) If yes how many points will i lose?
Thanks in advance
I have a problem. I used my bank credit card when I moved into my apt. to buy furniture which added up to a about a grand. About a year later, I used the card to transfer money into my checking account to use to buy a car-- also $1,000. The problem is that the interest for the first charges aren't bad but the transfer interest is very high and I am getting nowhere with my payments not to mention that my bank will surely use any payments I give them towards my lower interest charges first. So I am wondering.. I have a couple of cards with better interest charges.. would it be possible for me to use these cards to pay this bank card off and then when the bank card is at $0 again, with no transfer, to pay those other cards off with the bank card again. Sort of removing the debt to put it back on but somehow minus the transfer.. is this even possible?? Thanks!
Aside from the fact that our tax dollars bailed out all the major credit issuers, how can it be legal for them to charge such high rates (minimum of 11%, average 15%, as high as 39%) when the Federal Reserve Prime Rate is only 0.25%? Doesn't this seem ludicrous to anyone else out there??No one is really answering my question. I am not complaining about my own personal credit woes, I just remember that 10 years ago interest rates were MUCH lower than they are today, even for people with perfect credit. So how is it, that with the Federal Reserve rates being so low, and yours and my tax dollars paying their bonuses and salaries at the big banks, that they can get away with charging us so much interest. They are completely greedy, and the government is complicit in this entire fraudulent scheme. Anyways...
Hello :]
I've been hired for my first job, and I'm wondering what, in your opinion, would be best for me:
A debit card, a credit card, or some other type of card/account/other way of storing money? And why?
I'm an 18 year old in the Cook County, IL. I've never had a card of any type.
ALSO, this is just a side-question: My HR Manager signed me up for "0" on my taxes, she mentioned I could also do "1" or "2"... As she explained it, I could either pay my taxes with each paycheck, or all at the end of the year?
I have NO idea what that is all about. Any info would be appreciated. I'm pretty clueless and on my own here.
Thanks!! Anything is appreciated!!
