My name is Adam and I'm from Lenoir, NC. About 3 weeks ago, I purchased a used car from a dealer in my city. I placed $1000 down so I could finance it on the lot. As of two days ago, I have been experiencing problems in the transmission. In addition to that, my oil pressure light flashes on occasion, and my antifreeze light does too. Some people say that I have a right to return it according to "lemon laws". I have no idea what the lemon laws are in North Carolina because I'm sure they vary from state to state. I have $1,800 left on the car. What can I do? I just bought a brand new chrysler 300 touring 07 on Nov. 27th. It doesn't start when the weather is cold. So the car is in the shop since last Sat. The service guys can't figure out what's going on with it. I am so frustrated. I am making the payment of a brand new chrysler and driving a cheap rental. This is not the problem that frustrates me but the worry of such an unreliable car. Scenario: IOn Monday night (4/23/07) I purchased a 2004 Dodge Stratus SE w/ 62,800 miles. Last night I was driving home from work and the "Malfunction" engine looking light came on. I also noticed that when my car is in park, it idols at 1, to 2. I don't think that is normal, but maybe it is. My question is, does the dealership have to make these repairs for me at NO COST? I bought my daughter a 98 VW Bettle as a graduation gift. I paid $6000 for it. I had to save for this gift. I raised my daughter alone and it was difficult. We had the car 1 month and it broke down in Alabama stranding her for a week. I had it tolled back to Atlanta. It cost me $800 to fix. It has given us nothing but problems. (Ron's Auto Sale) Another dealer wants to give me $3500 for the car, so Im in the hole by $2500 plus repairs done. Is there anything I can do legally to get my money back? The car was sold as is, but the accidents were never disclosed to me and I overpaid for this vehicle. The lemon law in Georgia is for new cars. I am really hurt by this. Please help !
