I own a 2001 Rav4 2.0L I4 AWD with 130,000 miles. I have owned it for less than 10 months $8400. So far I have had 2 major problems with this car. After 2 weeks of owning it, I had to replace the ECU. Then in January, the engine went out. I was sitting a a stop sign when I noticed the knocking of a thrown rod, then about 2 miles later it started making a horrible metal-on-metal grinding noise. Drove the other mile to my house. Where it has just sat in my driveway since. I have just continued to make full coverage insurance and loan payments on it. Before anyone says it was due to 'hot-rodding', I do not push my vehicle. I understand the limits of vehicles, and do not seek to exceed those limits. And before anyone says it was due to the lack of an oil change... I changed it 1800 miles prior. The same procedures and with the same type oil as I had every other time I changed it. I change the oil in my cars religiously. Usually right around 3000-3500 miles. The most I have gone without changing the oil was 5000 miles (was not the Rav4). I have changed oil in vehicles countless times and not once have had engine problems after wards. I feel that it is due to the oil sludge problem that I have read about over and over online. But of course, Toyota has not recalled this (as with the ECU). Do I have ANY options in this situation other than spending 3 grand out of pocket to repair it? Does this fall into any lemon laws? Thanks everyone! *Serious answer only please! I have dealt with this chaos for going on 3 months now, the last thing I want is bullshi* from people here! Take it to some other post please!*

I know some and so far I have " Driving a lemon, make the call to 1800 lemon law", "nationwide is on your side", "800-588-2300 empire today"," break me off a piece of that kit kat bar",Maybe its maybelline","http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LU2yt6wOoK0"," clap on clap off clap on clap off the clapper". That is all I can come up with so if you know more please tell me.

I sold my 92 toyota paseo 4 days ago for $1800 its had a salvaged title but it was totaled 15 years ago and i let the lady know before she bought it. now 4 days later the lady calls and says it has $1400 worth of problems and all this crap. it only has 127k miles and i got all the work done timing belt ect, done it had new tires and brakes and ran fine for me for 5 years. my question is should i be worried? it was an all cash transaction and there was no reciept i let her test drive it for 20 min first and she opted out of getting it inspected first saying it ran great. is she just crazy? i dont know but either way am i liable. i live in oregon and i dont believe there are any lemon laws. anyways i already used the money to pay of my debt but kind of feel bad, but when i sold it it was running great.i guess never mind i guess she doesnt want the money back because she sold it? what a carzy *****. i think she was just a crazy bag lady or something

i bought a jetta from a guy that i thought was a good guy. he is a volwagon mechanic in santa monica. this guy is a snake and hes cheating out his place of employment by damaging out other peoples cars that have other problems to get free parts to buy cars that have broken down and dont work and then he sells them to people and does a really shitty job of fixing them. i took this car to another dealership and they told me everything backyard shitty he did to the car.. hes been fixing everything in the car to just get it to run for a week and then it messes up again. i want to get my money back and i tried to be nice and i paid 3000 for it and i only asked for 1800 back so i can get my other car fixed and now hes only offering me 1000 and now he wont even take it back... what can i do what about the lemon law in cali where you cant sell someone a car that breaks down within a month of having it. im in serious need of help and i dont want to cry over this asshole again who told me he doesnt give a shit about me...
