I'm filling out affidavit of support(I864) for my sister I have a very important question please help me, This is an emergency. I have made about 13000 dollars in 2009 but now I'm making about 39000 a year , there is a line in form I864 says you Income according to your tax return for past three years ( that has to be125% more than poverty guideline) now I have to problems 1. I immigrated to u.s. in 2009 so I dont have 2008 and 2007 tax return?! and It says 13000 in my 2009 tax return which is not a minimum to be a sponsor ship but NOW i'm making 39000 So what should I do?? I live with my parents and I dont pay anything and My sister will be my only dependent with my self will be 2 household I guess.

My income increased significantly in 2008. It reached a plateau in 2009. When I did my taxes for 2009, I received a federal refund of $970, yet Turbo Tax printed out 1040ES vouchers for 2010. Do I need to pay these if my W-4 withheld enough in 2009 for me to get a refund? If not, why would Turbo Tax print these vouchers?

I am a high school Sophomore and I either want to become a producer, actress (not very much though) or a lawyer. I wanted to be a lawyer for years but then I started to think about it and I don't know how good I am at arguing. People say I love to argue, but I don't think I can make a good argument, although some people say I can, others I can't. I am going to start taking acting lessons next year as my elective. I've been obsessed with this one celebrity so I looked into becoming a producer and it sounded interesting. I've started watching the behind scenes stuff on DVDs and it looks like fun! I have an uncle who is a producer and he is unemployed. But, then my neighbor is a lawyer and he is unemployed also.I told my parents I want to be a producer and they said "NO WAY!". My dad said "if you major in producing, find a way to pay for your own college", but he said this in front of his friends so I don't know if he was joking or not. After he said this, my mom said "just minor in film." I am taking acting classes next year for my electives and there are tons of opportunities for me to act if I am interested in it. I am going to college after high school, probably Notre Dame or U of Michigan and maybe majoring in Business and minoring in film . I am planning on going to law school after college. If I decide to go with the lawyer career, I want to be a Senator. Or I was considering becoming a producer and then governor (like Ronald Reagan was an actor and then he became President.) There are stars like Peter Facinelli and Ashley Greene who didn't start acting until college and Cameron Diaz who auditioned for a part and got it with no acting experience and Harrison Ford started acting, wasn't making a lot of money acting, so he took of carpentry and then was hired to build George Lucas's cabinets, and then Lucas hired him for Star Wars. I also took a career test and it said either a producer or lawyer! (That was no help at all!) Also, I was looking at employment statistics, and it said for 2008, there were around 100,00 employed producers and 700,000 employed lawyers, but I won't be graduating college until 2017, so I don't know how much the statistics will change. What are my chances of becoming a producer in Hollywood? Can I have some advice? I have no idea what I want to do! Also, my mom said the reason she didn't go to law school was because of how hard it is to find a job as a lawyer and she isn't good at arguing. Also, I don't want to become a lawyer because I am really shy and my brother said that if I want to be a lawyer, I better get over my shyness and he said that I just want to work in the movie industry because I'm obsessed with a celebrity and it's "clouding my mind". I don't know what to do and my parents always make me feel bad! Also, my parents friend is a lawyer and she is having tax problems and paying her taxes etc. Also, my dad keeps saying "It's my job to make sure that you can support yourself and there is no money income in with movies" Also, I've always been they type of person who thinks "if someone else can do it, you can do it also, but better." Also, I don't know if I should listen to my dad because he's always afraid to take risks. Also, next to where my mom works, a Production company just moved in... Also, this year I am taking Acting, next year Production, Acting and Directing and then the following year Actor's workshop

I was wondering if I am able to apply for the Earned Income Tax Credit for the year of 2008? I filled out my taxes for 2008 but didnt do the Income Tax Credit but I did it this year ( 2009 taxes in 2010 ) and got extra money for it. Since I didnt file for the tax credit in 2008 can I do it now? or how would I? Thanks

I had a part time job over a summer and made less than $5k. My W-2 says I had $205.42 of federal income tax withheld. Could I still get it?Do I need a 1040ez form to file?

THIS promises to be the worst Labor Day in the memory of most Americans. Organized labor is down to about 7 percent of the private work force. Members of non-organized labor — most of the rest of us — are unemployed, underemployed or underwater. The Labor Department reported on Friday that just 67,000 new private-sector jobs were created in August, while at least 125,000 are needed to keep up with the growth of the potential work force. The national economy isn’t escaping the gravitational pull of the Great Recession. None of the standard booster rockets are working: near-zero short-term interest rates from the Fed, almost record-low borrowing costs in the bond market, a giant stimulus package and tax credits for small businesses that hire the long-term unemployed have all failed to do enough. That’s because the real problem has to do with the structure of the economy, not the business cycle. No booster rocket can work unless consumers are able, at some point, to keep the economy moving on their own. But consumers no longer have the purchasing power to buy the goods and services they produce as workers; for some time now, their means haven’t kept up with what the growing economy could and should have been able to provide them. This crisis began decades ago when a new wave of technology — things like satellite communications, container ships, computers and eventually the Internet — made it cheaper for American employers to use low-wage labor abroad or labor-replacing software here at home than to continue paying the typical worker a middle-class wage. Even though the American economy kept growing, hourly wages flattened. The median male worker earns less today, adjusted for inflation, than he did 30 years ago. But for years American families kept spending as if their incomes were keeping pace with overall economic growth. And their spending fueled continued growth. How did families manage this trick? First, women streamed into the paid work force. By the late 1990s, more than 60 percent of mothers with young children worked outside the home (in 1966, only 24 percent did). Second, everyone put in more hours. What families didn’t receive in wage increases they made up for in work increases. By the mid-2000s, the typical male worker was putting in roughly 100 hours more each year than two decades before, and the typical female worker about 200 hours more. When American families couldn’t squeeze any more income out of these two coping mechanisms, they embarked on a third: going ever deeper into debt. This seemed painless — as long as home prices were soaring. From 2002 to 2007, American households extracted $2.3 trillion from their homes. Eventually, of course, the debt bubble burst — and with it, the last coping mechanism. Now we’re left to deal with the underlying problem that we’ve avoided for decades. Even if nearly everyone was employed, the vast middle class still wouldn’t have enough money to buy what the economy is capable of producing. Where have all the economic gains gone? Mostly to the top. The economists Emmanuel Saez and Thomas Piketty examined tax returns from 1913 to 2008. They discovered an interesting pattern. In the late 1970s, the richest 1 percent of American families took in about 9 percent of the nation’s total income; by 2007, the top 1 percent took in 23.5 percent of total income. It’s no coincidence that the last time income was this concentrated was in 1928. I do not mean to suggest that such astonishing consolidations of income at the top directly cause sharp economic declines. The connection is more subtle. The rich spend a much smaller proportion of their incomes than the rest of us. So when they get a disproportionate share of total income, the economy is robbed of the demand it needs to keep growing and creating jobs. What’s more, the rich don’t necessarily invest their earnings and savings in the American economy; they send them anywhere around the globe where they’ll summon the highest returns — sometimes that’s here, but often it’s the Cayman Islands, China or elsewhere. The rich also put their money into assets most likely to attract other big investors (commodities, stocks, dot-coms or real estate), which can become wildly inflated as a result. ... I have a second property that I have been rented out on and off since January 2008, though only recently started to make profit. I now realise I need to declare the income as part of my tax return, but should I fill out the self-assessments going back to Jan 08 or speak to an accountant first? If the latter, any London-based recommendations?

I withdrew my 401K in January 2009, and when filing taxes for the year 2008 (filing before April 15th 200(, I did not include the withdrawal as I was under the impression that it would appear as income for the year 2009. The question has popped up in an audit of my federal returns. Could you kindly clarify the same? I greatly appreciate your assistance.

Dear Sir, My father was allotted a Plot by Punjab Urban planning & Development Authority (PUDA), Jallandhar on 26 May 2005 on payment of 25% of cost. The balance payments were paid in installments, the last installment was paid on 24 Nov 2008. As per their Terms & Conditions the allottee shall complete the building within 3 years from the date of issue of allotment letter (26 May 2005). He completed the minimum permissible construction (25%) comprising of one bedroom, one bathroom and one kitchen as per norms in Dec 2009. Now, he wants to settle down in Bangalore and has applied for a flat being constructed by Army Welfare Housing Organisation Society (AWHO). He has no other property. The flat in Bangalore has been booked on his name vide AWHO Booking letter dated 02 Aug 2010 with Probable Date of Completion (PDC) June 2013. The Payment schedule is 20% cost in Nov 2010, 20% cost in Feb 2011, 20% cost in Jul 2011, 20% cost in Jan 2012, 15 % cost in Jul 2012 and 5 % of balance cost + escalation etc 3 months before possession date. I have following questions to ask :- 1.When can my father sell the PUDA plot (with 25 % constructed house ) to take advantage of exemption of Income Tax accrued from Long Term Capital Gain (LTCG)? The 3 years period for LTCG will commence from which date i.e. (a)Date of Allotment (26 May 2005) or (b)Date of last payment (24 Nov 2008) or (c)Date of Registration (May 2009) or (d)Date of 25 % completion of House (Dec 2009)? 2.As per IT Rules the gain on LTCG can be spent for construction of house within 3 years from the date of sale of property. If he sells the PUDA property in May 2011, can he draw the benefit of LTCG for the payments for Bangalore Flat scheduled in Jul 2011, Jan 2012, Jul 2012? 3.As per the Clause 54 of IT on LTCG, the income from the LTCG can be utilized for purchase of house within a period of one year before or two years after the date of purchase of house or within 3 years in construction, of a residential house. My question is the Bangalore Flat under construction by AWHO will fall into which Category for the purpose of exemption from LTCG i.e. (a)Construction category where the period given is 3 years or (b)Purchase category where the period is one year before or 2 years after the date of purchase of house 4. How can he get max exemption from LTCG if he sells his PUDA house and what should be the likely date for selling the PUDA house to gain maximum benefit? I shall be very grateful if my above queries are answered. Thanks and regards, GG Singh, Delhi 9958493136

A company's profit for last 210 years is given below. But the company cheated one of it's profit value to escape from the income tax.Now the correct profit value is going to give the passwrod for you. The company's profit follows certain constraints like: 1)The profit earned is linearly based on number of men,duration of work per month,average age of men,income tax percentage at that time. 2)Till 1899, the number of men saw a decrease in '1' per annum. But realizing this the company started to increae it's men at a rate of '5' per annum. 3)And for every decade the company witnessed the following changes. * duration of work was raised by '5' * average age reduced by '3' * income tax percentage raised by '4' due to many factors. year- profit 1800 -13448 1801 -13502 1802 -13466 1803 -13430 1804 -13394 1805 -13358 1806 -13322 1807 -13286 1808 -13250 1809 -13214 1810 -13178 1811 -13232 1812 -13196 1813 -13160 1814 -13124 1815 -13088 1816 -13052 1817 -13016 1818 -12980 1819 -12944 1820 -12908 1821 -12962 1822 -12926 1823 -12890 1824 -12854 1825 -12818 1826 -12782 1827 -12746 1828 -12710 1829 -12674 1830 -12638 1831 -12692 1832 -12656 1833 -12620 1834 -12584 1835 -12548 1836 -12512 1837 -12476 1838 -12440 1839 -12404 1840 -12368 1841 -12422 1842 -12386 1843 -12350 1844 -12314 1845 -12278 1846 -12242 1847 - 12206 1848 -12170 1849 -12134 1850 -12098 1851 -12152 1852 -12116 1853 -12080 1854 -12044 1855 -12008 1856 -11972 1857 -11936 1858 -11900 1859 -11864 1860 -11828 1861 -11882 1862 -11846 1863 -11810 1864 -11774 1865 -11738 1866 -11702 1867 -11666 1868 -11630 1869 -11594 1870 -11558 1871 -11612 1872 -11576 1873 -11540 1874 -11504 1875 -11468 1876 -11432 1877 -11396 1878 -11360 1879 -11324 1880 -11288 1881 -11342 1882 11306 1883 -11270 1884 -11234 1885 -11198 1886 -11162 1887 -11126 1888 -11090 1889 -11054 1890 -11018 1891 -11072 1892 -11036 1893 -11000 1894 -10964 1895 -10928 1896 -10892 1897 -10856 1898 -10820 1899 -10784 1900 -10748 1901 -11018 1902 -11198 1903 -11378 1904 -11558 1905 -11738 1906 -11918 1907 -12098 1908 -12278 1909 -12458 1910 -12638 1911 -12908 1912 -13088 1913 -13268 1914 -13448 1915 -13628 1916 -13808 1917 -13988 1918 -14168 1919 -14347 1920 -14528 1921 -14798 1922 -14978 1923 -15158 1924 -15338 1925 -15518 1926 -15698 1927 -15878 1928 -16058 1929 -16238 1930 -16418 1931 -16688 1932 -16868 1933 -17048 1934 -17228 1935 -17408 1936 -17588 1937 -17768 1938 -17948 1939 -18128 1940 -18308 1941 -18578 1942 -18758 1943 -18938 1944 -19118 1945 -19298 1946 -19478 1947 -19658 1948 -19838 1949 -20018 1950 -20198 1951 -20468 1952 -20648 1953 -20828 1954 -21008 1955 -21188 1956 -21368 1957 -21548 1958 -21728 1959 -21908 1960 -22088 1961 -22358 1962 -22538 1963 -22718 1964 -22898 1965 -23078 1966 -23258 1967 -23438 1968 -23618 1969 -23798 1970 -23978 1971 -24248 1972 -24428 1973 -24608 1974 -24788 1975 -24968 1976 -25148 1977 -25328 1978 -25508 1979 -25688 1980 -25868 1981 -26138 1982 -26318 1983 -26498 1984 -26678 1985 -26858 1986 -27038 1987 -27218 1988 -27398 1989 -27578 1990 -27758 1991 -28028 1992 -28208 1993 -28388 1994 -28568 1995 -28748 1996 -28928 1997 -29108 1998 -29288 1999 -29468 2000 -29648 2001 -29918 2002 -30098 2003 -30278 2004 -30458 2005 -30638 2006 -30818 2007 -30998 2008 -31178 2009 -31358

I have had a lot of problems with student finance. I have sent my evidence to them in MAY and they said everything is okay. When I renewed my passport in July and sent that off to them they said my application was all fine, all that was needed to complete the loan was my passport, which was sent. I logged on to Student Finance England and saw that NOTHING was processed so I phoned them up and this time they needed new evidence of 2008/2009 because I have sent them something wrong. I have telephoned them many many times to find out where to get the evidence from and I hear a new story every single time! I live with my Dad and little sister, my Dad is on benefits; Jobseeker's Allowance, Child tax benefit and Housing benefit. Where can I get evidence of income from those 3 in 1 for the period of 2008/2009?? And sorry if this is in the wrong category Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated
